Tomorrow.  My little baby turns six tomorrow.

I have a lot of random things I wanted to talk about on my blog but haven’t been able to take the time to sit down and blog about each one of them.  Instead, here’s some snippets of what’s been going on or on my mind:

1. 1. My big 3-0 is just around the corner!!  I somehow convinced my husband to take me to the happiest place on earth for the entire weekend - VEGAS!!  I’m so excited.  Oh how I love Vegas.  My poor husband, however, does not love Vegas {yeah, I don’t see how that’s possible either}.  So it’s a big thing that not only are we going but he’s going with me!
   2. I’ve been watching Teen Mom on M TV.  There’s a firstmom on the show named Catelynn.  They’ve been filming her as she’s been dealing with the adoption.  The episode where she went to the support weekend was touching.  I’ve been glued to my tv when her story is on there.  It’s supposed to be an open adoption and I know that there are varying degrees of openness in open adoption, but I was very surprised that she didn’t have access to basic things like their last name or a way to directly communicate with the APs.
   3. I mentioned to my parents that I wanted Chloe’s birthday party this year to be low-key {in years past we did a big 30+ people party that were always a big undertaking for me}.  The first thing they said was, “it wasn’t low-key before?”  and the second thing was, “okay, so you want it to be just us, you two, and Chloe?”  LOL  Love how they managed to not let me not include them in her birthday plans.
   4. Chloe has recently become more interested in her barbiedolls {did you know that there is a Joan Jett barbiedoll??  I totally would have bought it had it not cost more than $30}.  I was pleasantly surprised to discover that her dolls have panties on {it’s just designs on that part of their body}, until I discovered the doll that has a thong on.
   5. oh dear, i’m going to be thirty.
   6. I’ve given myself a big project.  I’m kind of excited about it.  More on that later when I’ve completed enough of it to show people.
   7. I made myself promise not to take the baby stuff out of storage until I take down all the xmas decorations and put them away.  You would think that would be enough incentive to get off the computer and put my xmas decorations away.  Okay okay.  I’ll do it before we leave for vegas. . . .
   8. We’re going to our adoption support group meeting next week!!  This is the first one we’ve been to since J first got in contact with us.  A lot has been going on so I’ve been going nuts waiting for one that we can go to.
   9. I’m wanting to do a major hair change for my bday. 

I was working on something else and needed to make this for examples.  I only wanted to show it on here because - can you believe that’s my little girl?!?  This was when Chloe was about 2 months old.  It was our first park outing.

I’ve been having fun making felt food for Chloe.  So far I’ve made a chocolate chip cookie, an egg { “it doesn’t look like an egg, but I’ll sleep with it anyway” - she only brings her favorite stuffed animals to bed and she was trying to make me feel better}, and now bread with butter.

errrr.  It didn’t turn out how I expected.  However, the dirty dishes and messy livingroom are calling, so this is it for today.  Maybe I’ll fix it tomorrow.

There’s a nifty site for color inspiration that I love here:  Kuler.  If I have no clue what colors I want to use I wander around that site for a bit obsessing about color combos.

I figured this would be a good time to try to make a nice birthday card for Chloe to mail out next month.  Goodness, I can’t believe my little girl is going to be SIX next month.

You’ll probably see a lot of these birthday announcements in the next few weeks.  I love the face she’s making in this picture.
